A child’s eyes

When spring is full of turbulence, and you are struggling to throw off a winter virus that keeps returning to bite you in the throat, it’s time to look at life through a child’s eyes.

‘Look Granny, there’s a giant shoe in the water!’
‘I’m wearing my special cloak. I’m the fairy godmother.’
‘It’s got a window in it, just perfect for my little hut.’
‘Here are all the flowers in my garden.’
 ‘And a rainbow is shining.’

I join in, and make a boat on the beach, a boat to take me across the seasons to a gentler time.

Meanwhile the little monkey plays in the pohutukawa tree.
Reversals are easy through a child’s eyes: just swing around and upside down, and you have a different world.

Hi Hilary, yes it’s uplifting being in her presence, and I think I’m starting to recover now. Being able to post a blog again is a good sign. Thank you.

They are so wise when we let them be. I have been thinking a lot about you…much love from me. x
And thank you for being open about your tough times Juliet. That gives me permission to be wherever I am at too. You continue to inspire me. There is such strength in vulnerability.

    * Anissa, so nice to see you here. Yes, the wisdom of the young is amazing. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

  9. Lynley

It is good to see you back here Juliet and to enjoy the delights of the wee one.

I hope your strength returns steadily now.

How delightful it is to see that “little monkey” again, Juliet. My, how she is growing. I love her sense of play and imagination. Hope that nasty virus is on its way out the door.

    * Penny, all these little ones are growing so fast. She’s 5 years old now, and her creativity is a constant delight. The virus is clinging a little, but a little less each day, thank you.

It’s wonderful to find you back at your blog Juliet, even as you battle the returning virus. I’m glad you had your ‘little monkey’ for company and different perspectives. Their energy and perspectives can be such a tonic. But the pohutakawa skills make me realise – yet again – how fast they grow up!

  14. juliet

Ruth, she certainly is growing up fast. It’s so wonderful to see her at home climbing trees. Thank you for visiting.
